Well, that didn’t take long at all… Less than 2 years after Felix Baumgartner set the record for highest skydive. It’s been broken! The new record holder is Alan Eustace a Google executive (go figure a rich bored guy, no way 🙂 and when you see this guy you will be thinking “not exactly the dude I expected”. On Friday Oct 24, 2014 after a 2 1/2 hour balloon ride to a height of more than 135000 feet (near space according to the Pentagon) Eustace detached and plunged towards earth. He attained speeds of over 800 miles per hour during his roughly 5 minute free fall.
